Peter McKee Community Food Centre

Board Director Kimberley Buck de Jesus says it was an emotional presentation granting the Peter McKee Community Food Centre with an award of $25,000 today. She spent an hour meeting with Christine Taylor, the Executive Director and Nikki - her (more than) Executive Assistant. Kimberley says seeing the work of the team and then long term passion was truly inspiring. Relying almost entirely on donations, fundraising and grants (shockingly) the well run organization not only provides food to an ever increasing number of those in need, but also is the home of an eye center and counseling services. The junior chef cooking class program is well attended and the community garden is once again underway. She says she could have visited for several hours. Congratulations!
